When a tooth needs removing
We save teeth wherever we can. Extraction is the right choice when a tooth is too decayed or broken to restore, when infection cannot be cleared, when gum disease has loosened it beyond saving, or to make space for orthodontic treatment. Wisdom teeth are removed when they are impacted, repeatedly infected, or damaging the tooth in front.

Mr Alaa Aldaadaa trained in surgery at Barts and The Royal London and completed higher specialist training at UCL Eastman and University College London Hospitals. He holds MOralSurg from the Royal College of Surgeons and a consultant post at King’s College Hospital. In practice that means difficult roots, impacted wisdom teeth and surgical cases are handled calmly and efficiently, with less trauma and quicker healing, and without months on an NHS hospital list.

Does having a tooth out hurt?
Not during the procedure; you will feel pressure but not pain. Expect soreness for a few days afterwards, worst on the first three, managed with normal painkillers.
How long does it take to recover from wisdom tooth removal?
Most people are back to normal within a week. Swelling peaks around day two and fades over the following days.
Can I be sedated?
Please ask. We will discuss the options for anxious patients at your consultation.
