How Six Month Smiles works
Traditional braces spend much of their time correcting the bite at the back of the mouth. Six Month Smiles focuses on the teeth that show when you smile, using gentle, low forces over a short period. The brackets are clear and the wires are tooth-coloured, so at conversation distance they are barely visible.

Dr Mansour examines your teeth and bite, takes photos and a scan, and confirms whether Six Month Smiles or Invisalign is the right fit.

Fitting
Custom brackets are bonded in a single visit using a precise placement tray. It takes about an hour.

Adjustments and retainers
Short visits every four to five weeks. When your teeth are straight the braces come off and retainers are fitted the same day.

Does it really take six months?
Most cases finish in four to nine months; six is the average. Simple spacing can be quicker, more complex crowding slightly longer.
Do the braces hurt?
Expect mild pressure for a few days after fitting and after each adjustment. Because the forces are low, it is noticeably gentler than traditional braces.
Will I need retainers?
Yes, as with any orthodontic treatment. We provide removable retainers and can fit a discreet fixed wire behind the front teeth.
