What counts as a dental emergency
Severe or persistent toothache, facial swelling, a knocked-out or broken tooth, a lost filling or crown, bleeding that will not stop, or an abscess. If you are unsure, call us. If we cannot help over the phone we will get you in.
For a knocked-out adult tooth, time matters: hold it by the crown, not the root, rinse briefly in milk, and either place it back in the socket or keep it in milk and come straight to us.
What happens at an emergency appointment
The priority is to diagnose the cause and stop the pain. That might mean a temporary filling, draining an infection, prescribing antibiotics, re-cementing a crown or starting root canal treatment. You will always be told the cost of any treatment before it is done, and the emergency fee covers the examination and any x-rays.

Are you open at the weekend for emergencies?
Yes. We are open until 5pm on Saturdays and 4pm on Sundays, and until 8pm Monday to Friday.
Do I need to be a registered patient?
No. We see emergency patients from anywhere, and you are welcome to stay with us afterwards.
How much does an emergency appointment cost?
From £100, which includes the examination and any x-rays. Any treatment is explained and priced before it is carried out.
